An Experimental Study of Pressure Drop Characteristics and Flow Resistance Coefficient in a Fluidized Bed for Coal Particle Fluidization

Liquid–solid fluidized beds have a wide range of applications in metallurgical processing, mineral extraction, and wastewater treatment. Great interest on their flow stability heterogeneous fluidization behaviors has been aroused research. In this study, various experiments were performed by adjusting the operating conditions particle size, density, liquid superficial velocity. For each case, steady state liquid–solid was obtained, bed expansion height pressure drop characteristics analyzed. The time evolution at different heights can truly reflect that are determined conditions. With increase velocity, three typical stages observed. Accordingly, resistance coefficient obtained based experimental data drop. experiences decrease with modified Reynolds number densimetric Froude number.
